All parliamentary groups have signed this Tuesday an institutional declaration to show their "support" and "solidarity" with the people evacuated from their homes after the volcanic eruption suffered on the island of La Palma last Sunday, as well as "recognition" to public employees who are "on the front line" working to protect the inhabitants of the island.

"Our love to those who have lost their homes, their crops or any other property under the lava. We feel their pain, anguish and despair throughout Spain and few words can serve as encouragement in these moments," reads the declaration read by Manuel Fajardo from Lanzarote.

In this line, the Congress and the Senate want to "value" the coordinated work that all public administrations have developed and show support for the technicians, scientists, state security forces, UME, Army and civil protection volunteers who continue working to safeguard the integrity of the population.

They also urge the Government and all institutions to "continue deploying the maximum effort" to help the affected citizens and to ensure that, as soon as possible, they receive financial support to alleviate the consequences of the eruption of the Cumbre Vieja volcano.
