The Coalición Canaria candidate for the European Parliament, Carlos Alonso, will be accompanied in his candidacy by the presidents of the Cabildos of Lanzarote, Fuerteventura and La Palma, Oswaldo Betancort, Lola García and Sergio Rodríguez, respectively.
With the presence of the island presidents heading the list led by Carlos Alonso, Coalición Canaria highlights "its important commitment to the European elections and the need to convey the reality of the Canary Islands to Europe," Alonso pointed out. Likewise, the incorporation of the presidents of the councils of Fuerteventura, La Palma and Lanzarote to the electoral list, "allows us to bring our singularities closer to Europe," said the nationalist leader, and referred to key aspects such as the double insularity suffered by the non-capital islands, the problems of access to housing, the migratory reality, drought, the water crisis, energy supply, the unequal distribution of the population, or the problems facing the primary sector, among other issues.
The nationalist candidate assures that the new challenges facing the Canary Islands need "to have visibility with representatives and experiences" such as those faced every day by the Canarians who live throughout the territory. "Hence the important role symbolized as candidates by the three presidents of the island councils of La Palma, Lanzarote and Fuertevetnura," said Carlos Alonso.
The candidate for the European elections on June 9, has thanked Lola García, Sergio Rodríguez and Oswaldo Betancort "for joining him in this challenge", and wanted to insist on "the importance of this electoral process for the future of our land".
