Health notifies four new cases of monkeypox in the Canary Islands and rules out the one in Lanzarote

The Ministry maintained a suspected case on the island of Lanzarote, but the analysis has finally come back negative

The Ministry of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands has reported four new confirmed cases of monkeypox and six more under study, of which four are probable and two are suspected.

This means that there are a total of 32 confirmed cases in the archipelago, of which 23 were detected in Gran Canaria and nine in Tenerife. All cases are experiencing mild symptoms and remain in home isolation.

In addition, the Ministry has ruled out the suspected case it had in Lanzarote, which was awaiting the results of the analysis. Therefore, the island continues to not register any positive cases.

This Tuesday, ten cases remain under study, seven probable and three suspected, all of them in Gran Canaria and Tenerife.
