The president of the Canary Islands and general secretary of the Canarian Coalition (CC), Fernando Clavijo, has asked the head of the Executive, Pedro Sánchez, this Monday to submit to a vote of confidence to see if he has the necessary support to govern.

In an interview published by 'La Vanguardia' collected by EFE, the leader of the Canarian Coalition, which is one of the formations that supports Sánchez in Congress, advances that his group will make this proposal in the appearance next Wednesday in the Lower House.

"The president must explain how he plans to continue governing. Our vote would depend on the horizon he draws, his plans, and his commitments," says the Canarian leader.

He adds that the current situation "is not limited to a party crisis," but that "it is also a government crisis" and that, as such, it should be resolved."

The Canarian president is one of the first parliamentary partners of the Government in Congress to ask Sánchez to submit to a vote of confidence.
