The Ministry of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands has notified a total of 971 new positives for Covid-19 among people over 60 years of age since last Tuesday, which is the population group that is being monitored after passing the acute phase of the Pandemic. In addition, the Archipelago has recorded nine deaths in the last three days, of which six were reported in Tenerife and three in Gran Canaria. The deceased, aged between 77 and 96 years, had previous pathologies and were in hospital.
Therefore, the accumulated cases of coronavirus among this group in the Canary Islands amounts to 56,102 people. Thus, the Accumulated Incidence for this age group at 14 days stands at 735.70 cases per 100,000 inhabitants and at 7 days at 358.96.
Currently, in the Archipelago there are 288 people admitted with coronavirus, of which 13 are in the ICU and the rest, 275, on the ward.
