Canary Islands registers 14 deaths with Covid in the last three days and adds 2,364 new positives

The number of deaths with Covid in the Canary Islands is increasing again, reaching 14 deaths in just three days, seven of them in Gran Canaria, six in Tenerife and one in El Hierro. All the people, aged between 62 and 98 years old, had previous pathologies and were in hospital admission.

In addition, the Ministry of Health has notified a total of 2,364 new positive cases of coronavirus in the archipelago among people over 60 years of age, which is the population group that is being monitored after passing the acute phase of the pandemic.

Therefore, the accumulated cases of coronavirus among this group amounts to 83,701 people in the Canary Islands. Thus, the Cumulative Incidence for this age group at 14 days stands at 1,548.11 cases per 100,000 inhabitants and at 7 days at 864.71.

Currently, there are 458 people admitted to hospital with coronavirus in the Archipelago, of which 21 are in the ICU and the rest, 437, are on the ward.
