The Ministry of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands has counted 230 new positives for Covid-19 in the archipelago among people over 60 years of age since last Friday, which is the population group that is being monitored after passing the acute phase of the pandemic.
In addition, in the last four days there have been eight deaths, of which five were reported in Tenerife, two in Gran Canaria and one in La Palma, aged between 69 and 97. All the people had previous pathologies and were in hospital.
Therefore, the accumulated number of coronavirus cases among this group in the Canary Islands amounts to 95,869 people. Thus, the Accumulated Incidence for this age group at 14 days stands at 230.16 cases per 100,000 inhabitants and at 7 days at 108.01.
Currently, there are 123 people hospitalized for coronavirus in the Archipelago, of which eight are in the ICU and the rest, 115, are on the ward.
