Several readers have contacted La Voz to denounce the state of the public services located on the beaches of Costa Teguise. In this sense, they have highlighted that both the showers and toilets of Playa Bastián, Jablillo and Las Cucharas are in a state of neglect and that, in addition, they have been closed to the public, arguing "the water emergency" declared on the island of Lanzarote.
One of the criticisms that has reached La Voz states that before being closed to the public, two months ago already, these services were "destroyed and dirty", that there was "lack of toilet paper, the urinals full of urine, the sinks did not work, the soap containers had no soap and the doors were full of graffiti".
To this is added the stench that came from the toilets due to lack of maintenance. Another of the criticisms that have been sent to this editorial office states that the Teguise City Council has been with the bathrooms closed and the showers without water for two months now and asks: "Did they also promote this at Fitur?"
Finally, the closure of the bathrooms makes residents and tourists decide to relieve themselves in the surroundings of the beach.
