The residents of Los Ancones, in Costa Teguise, have denounced the "lack of responsibility" in the "poor condition" of one of the roads in the area. One of the residents has contacted La Voz to express her "discontent" and that of the other citizens.
The residents criticize that this road has not been repaired for some time, and has even "started to become quite dangerous." Due to the "lack of initiative" to continue repairing the road, as promised by the City Council, agreeing with the citizens that it would be "repaired every three months", something that "has not yet been fulfilled."
The residents in the area have stated that November was the last month in which the repairs were carried out. "It's like always, they promise it and then the words are carried away by the wind," she added.
The citizens do not know what measures to take in the situation. "We are all tired now," she revealed. They are concerned that a "serious" accident may occur that harms residents, tourists, or even athletes who pass through the area daily. "So far there have been no accidents, although last year a person had an accident with their bicycle," she told the newspaper.
The City Council has recently informed the residents that machinery from Fuerteventura could be used to improve the road. "They are trying to bring in machinery that has already been tested in Papagayo," the neighbor pointed out.
