Juan Félix Duque, owner of the Acatife restaurant in Teguise, has contacted La Voz to report that he has had to close his business for several days due to the continuous water cuts that take place in Lanzarote.

According to the owner of the establishment, he has been "without supply for several weeks" and has not opened to the public since last Saturday, which is causing him economic losses. "In the 65 years that we have been open, the water has never failed," says Duque.

"The only solution they gave me was to offer me a water tank but I can't be watching the cistern every day. A water tank lasts me three days but, also, when there is water, only a trickle comes out that does not allow me to fill it and I can't be looking every day to see if it has water or not," he criticizes.

The owner asks that at least he be notified of the cuts so that he can organize himself. "This way I can anticipate and buy a water tank because on top of that, if they bring me the tank, they bring it to me around one in the afternoon and between calling the plumber and starting to prepare the food, the day is gone because I close at seven in the afternoon. Canal Gestión does not understand this," he declares.

The lack of water not only affects the time of making food, but also the time of using the bathrooms and washing the kitchen utensils.

In addition, Duque says that he has a cistern in the restaurant that is 15 meters deep but due to the enormous number of pigeons, the water from the roof cannot be used for consumption or thrown into the street because the area is a Historical Heritage site, so he says he is "tied hand and foot." The owner even suffered an anxiety attack due to the nervousness that the situation has caused him.
