A reader has contacted La Voz to report that the Social Security is demanding the return of a subsidy granted during the Covid health crisis for a value of almost 4,000 euros.

The woman requested this aid after having to close her business due to the pandemic, since they were not receiving any type of income. However, now the Social Security forces her to return the amount that was given to her at the time.

To this amount is added the 1,888 euros that are also claimed from her husband, so the total figure amounts to almost 6,000 euros. In this sense, both have a period of 30 days to return this amount.

However, in the claim document to which La Voz has been able to access, it is specified that there is a "lack of accreditation of not having obtained, during the second and third quarter of 2021, net income exceeding 7,980 euros." Therefore, according to the writing, the woman did not present the necessary documentation so that the administration could verify the necessary data.

"My advisor is writing a letter to the mutual insurance company and I had to request a postponement from the Social Security," the woman points out. "One of the aids said that I had to continue contributing for six months and even though I closed the business, I continued contributing those months, and then I deregistered as self-employed," she explains.

In addition, the woman states that "she was entitled to two aids, so if one was denied, the other that is approved will also be returned to me, so I will be left with a debt of more than 6,000 euros."
