A neighbor reports that there are "several people" who feed a considerable number of pigeons on the side of her house, located in a lot in the Valterra neighborhood of Arrecife. This woman assures that these animals are fed even "when the ordinance that prohibits it is in force."
For this citizen, feeding the pigeons causes "a deterioration of the sidewalks" and of her own patio, which "continuously fills with feces" and increases "the presence of rats."
At the same time, according to what she told La Voz, she presented the case to the Local Police of the municipality in 2019 and they assured her then "that there was not enough personnel to attend to this type of case."
"Both I and the neighbors continue to suffer from the insistent attitude of a person," she continues. In this line, she reveals that she has already spoken with this person to comment on the existence of the ordinance and assures that her response has been "that she doesn't care and that even if the police pass by and ask her, she will tell them that she is only watering the plants."
"I would like action to be taken on the matter," she says, while asking the City Council to intervene.
