A reader has contacted La Voz to report a breakdown in the supply network on Siroco street, in Playa Honda. According to him, his family and a neighbor have been without running water for six days, but he assures that the public company Aguas de Lanzarote y La Graciosa, managed by the Water Consortium, is not fixing it.
This neighbor noticed the breakdown when his cistern emptied, a problem that also affects his neighbor who, in his case, does have a pump to push water from the cistern.
"I have called the company several times and they tell me they are going to send someone, but we still have no water," he states. Furthermore, he emphasizes the bad situation they are in due to the lack of water with the high temperatures these days and with a family of six. "Not even for showering, not for the toilet, not for anything," he continues.
Due to the lack of water, the family has been forced to wash at the homes of other relatives, but also to shower in a communal area with a hose with which they fill the tanks "but we cannot cook or anything."
