Neighbors and families of the town of Guatiza have publicly denounced the situation of the town's playground. In a statement issued to the media at noon this Tuesday, parents of the area have criticized the Teguise City Council for the "negligence" and "excuses" when it comes to rehabilitating this space.

"A year ago, at the beginning of last year" the council "promised to reform and install a new park" in the town. After twelve months "since that promise and who knows how many promises of improvements and repairs that never arrived", they have assured that they have only received "mockery".

The citizens have accused the council led by Olivia Duque and have assured that "not even painting some unrepaired oars in colors, nor improving anything." At the same time, he indicated that the park is "with all the splinters of the wood out, with the floor raised and the broken protections."

In addition, they have indicated that a year ago the Councilor for Children's Parks of the town, Mar Boronat, and the Councilor for Works, Eugenio Robayna, visited the area together with the architect of the council and representatives of the Association of Mothers and Fathers of Students (AMPA) of the Guenia school to "verify the existing needs and, above all, shortcomings", but that "nothing is yet known."

In the statement issued this Tuesday they have highlighted that "in all this time, instead of a new park what there are are excuses, neglect and promises that are not fulfilled and a park abandoned by the institutions, since they do not even come to clean. In addition, they have pointed out that "the sand of the park cannot hold more garbage in addition to being a source of infection because stray cats do their business there. The images of the current state of the park speak for themselves."
