Looking for two men who saved a dog attacked by three American bullies: “We couldn’t even thank them”

It happened on Monday night in El Charco de San Ginés, where the three dogs were without a leash. "If those guys hadn't intervened, I don't know what would have happened," says the owner of the attacked dog.

Still with a fright, the owner of a Pomeranian dog is trying to locate two people who made the event she experienced on Monday night not have worse consequences.

She was walking through El Charco de San Ginés with a friend when they saw another dog rushing towards them. The first thing they did was pick up her dog, "which doesn't reach three kilos in weight," but that didn't stop the situation.

The dog started jumping to try to reach her and was joined by two others, all of the American Bully breed, who were walking through this busy area of the capital without even a leash.

"The owner arrived and tried to hold him, but couldn't manage. The three of them were surrounding us," says the woman, who still doesn't understand how they finally managed to snatch the dog from their arms.

Hearing their cries for help, "two guys" appeared whom they are now looking for to thank. "I don't even know how old they were. I don't know if they were young or middle-aged," she explains, showing the tension they experienced in those moments.

"They jumped on the dogs and grabbed their heads to make them let go," she recalls. As soon as they managed to do so and pulled her away, the dog ran away, and behind her her owner and her friend, until they caught up with her.

"They risked their physical integrity"

"When we returned, they were no longer there. We didn't know what happened to them," she explains with regret, because she would have liked to thank them.

"It was a traumatic situation, very stressful, and they risked their physical integrity. If they hadn't intervened, I don't know what would have happened," she emphasizes.

In fact, she emphasizes that the consequences were "few for what could have been," thanks to the fact that they managed to free the dog, who finally suffered a fracture in one leg and a tear, which required stitches.

The event occurred shortly before 9 p.m., so finding a veterinarian on call was an added problem. Finally, the Local Police officers themselves, whom they notified after the incident to report what happened, helped them locate one. "They had a magnificent intervention," she emphasizes, also thanking the attention and work of the officers.

"It is incredible the lack of civic-mindedness of people and that these things still happen, going with loose dogs in such a busy area. It could have happened to a child who was walking a dog," warns the woman.

In any case, her priority is to locate those two people who "helped and rescued" them. Her friend and she want to personally thank them, both for the help they gave them, "which was a lot," and for recognizing the gesture of someone who puts themselves at risk to help others.

Therefore, they ask that you contact La Voz de Lanzarote, through the email direccion@lavozdelanzarote.com or at the telephone 928 80 03 03, so that through this medium they can get in touch with them.
