A woman has contacted La Voz to report that her house was completely looted after returning from a business trip outside of Lanzarote on March 14. According to the woman, the house is located in the Vista Lobos urbanization of Playa Blanca, but since the community does not have an access door, anyone can enter whenever they want, even those who do not live there. In addition, there is no security guard and she criticizes "the lack of light on the street".
At first, when the woman and her husband had been away from the house for a month, a neighbor informed the affected party that "there were things outside the house", so she called a friend who verified that the lock had been forced. This friend entered the house with her permission and changed the lock until the owners arrived.
The woman arrived from the business trip, but when she entered her house, which did not have an alarm installed, she found it looted. "When I arrived, all the furniture had been taken except for the beds, and they had even rolled them towards the kitchen terrace, and they stole the dishwasher, the washing machine, the refrigerator, a sofa, a television, bicycles, a piece of furniture that occupied the entire wall, an electric scooter... everything, even a huge dining room table that I brought from the Peninsula and that cannot be disassembled," says the affected party.
The affected party went to file a complaint with the Civil Guard about what happened, although she criticizes that "they have not examined the house to find traces of those responsible".
On the other hand, "they had emptied all the closets and each bed had its sheets and blankets, it was not an occupation in which families get involved." In this sense, she assures that in the urbanization there are "unregistered vacation homes and even a company dedicated to spiritual retreats".
In addition, as a result of what happened, the woman explains that she has had to go to her mother's house in Madrid with her children because "they are afraid".
According to her, "some of the owners of the houses that rent their houses for tourism do not want to put up cameras because they say there is no money for that, but there is for houses of 300 square meters".
Apart from criticizing the lack of light on the street in the area and the lack of a security guard, she also denounces that "at the entrance of the community there is a map placed of the urbanization showing where each corner is accessed and what the exits are". To finish, what the woman asks for is greater security in the area to prevent these robberies from happening again.
