A resident of Arrecife, specifically from the downtown area, has contacted La Voz to convey his "discontent" with the works being carried out on Coronel Bens Street.
The citizen criticizes one of the maneuvers carried out last Sunday around seven in the morning near the IES Agustín Espinosa, at which point "the street is closed", of course, "without prior notice", and with "three trucks unloading machinery to remove debris from the building", explains the neighbor. "We had a deafening noise for more than eight hours."
"We had a deafening noise for more than eight hours."
But his annoyances do not end there. He also criticizes "the lack of accessibility as a result of the works." "Being able to access by car is a complete chaos, the works are carried out whenever they want and at whatever time they want," says the citizen indignantly. Last Sunday, Coronel Bens Street "was closed to traffic and not to pedestrians, so a tragedy could have occurred, since the wall fell on the public road," as can be seen in the images.
To add more criticism to these works, the neighbor states that "the street is closed at the height of Avenida, at one end, and by Canalejas Street", which forms a "beastly traffic chaos", he says angrily.
"It is a small summary of what the residents of the center of Arrecife have been suffering for two years."
"It is a small summary of what the residents of the center of Arrecife have been suffering for two years," adds the man. According to the municipal ordinance that the man confesses to "not knowing", "works are allowed to be done 365 days a year", the citizen points out after going to the Local Police of Arrecife.
