A citizen of Lanzarote has reported that Caleta de Famara "continues to be practically excluded in terms of public transport", according to what she stated in a complaint sent to La Voz.
This neighbor has pointed out that bus lines 31, which connects Costa Teguise and Caleta de Famara, and 33, which connects Costa Teguise with Muñique, passing through Famara, make it "very difficult" or "impossible" to leave the town of Caleta de Famara "at a reasonable time" to arrive before 9:00 AM in Costa Teguise. Thus, she has pointed out that neither of the two lines "are adapted to the real needs of the residents."
This reader has indicated that "the morning schedules are not coordinated with the start of classes nor with the working day in Costa Teguise" and that this reality "directly affects students, workers, and families".
In said complaint has made an appeal to the competent authorities, especially to the Cabildo of Lanzarote and to the transport company, so that "they review and adjust the schedules".
"It is fundamental to introduce a service that allows leaving Famara around 8:00 and arriving at Costa before 9:00," he stated. "Public transport must respond to the real needs of the population, not the other way around," he concluded.
