One of the cleaning staff at the Arrecife Courts has contacted La Voz to report the relocation of the garbage containers that were located next to the facilities. This has meant they have to travel a greater distance with the dangers that entails, according to her.

"We have to cross at night or go to the dumpsters next to the Hubara building to throw out trash bags, and I think it's inhumane... the girls cross the street with the **danger of cars that don't respect pedestrian crossings**," says one of the cleaning ladiesFurthermore, **the weight of the garbage makes this task difficult**. "I had to get a cart because you can't carry the bags, we told the supervisor and nobody seems to care if we're in danger or if we're carrying a lot of weight," she statesThe solution they are asking for is **to be able to have the containers closer** to the courthouses to facilitate the work they do on the premises

La Voz has spoken with Jacobo Lemes, councilor for Cleaning of the Arrecife City Council, who explains that from his department they are trying to **remove all containers that are attached to large buildings due to continuous fires**. "There were containers on Aragón street and we have moved them to the other side of Vía Medular," he states.

With this, he assures, what they are trying to achieve is "more security for the citizens because these containers were one meter from the facade, eliminating those we can, trying to bother as little as possible." Furthermore, he recalls that "on the Medular there are several **traffic cameras** that also monitor these containers."
