A citizen has contacted La Voz to denounce the impossibility of taking the A2 motorcycle license exam in Lanzarote during the month of August. According to him, these exams are held on the esplanade of the Fairgrounds, which is occupied these days by the attractions and booths of the San Ginés fair.
"In other words, if there is a fair, there are no exams", criticizes this citizen, who also states that "to top it off" this year "booths have been set up ahead of time", so the suspension of an exam, already announced and convened, was announced "on the same day" of its celebration. "What it means is that if you have asked for a day off or moved heaven and earth to find that free moment, then you are screwed. Now, of course, you pay the fees like every other son of a gun and at the same price as someone who takes the exam on a closed circuit in Tenerife or other places", he says.
This man considers it a "disgrace" that this situation is happening in Lanzarote "and that the DGT is not taking measures to address this", since "many people take advantage of the summer period to obtain different driving licenses, given that they have more time due to vacations or other reasons."
In addition, he also believes that "driving schools could also complain and take action on the matter." "But it is a taboo subject and they seem afraid to confront the administration", this citizen points out.
Thus, he believes that "it would be appreciated that, given that Lanzarote has a great variety and quantity of unoccupied land, one could be found and arranged where these exams can be taken all year round (not depending on events and festivities) and practices could be done without having to depend on other vehicles preventing it." And, apart from the San Ginés fair, he also states that "it is not uncommon to see cars parked on top" of the circuit during the year, "since there is no signage prohibiting it either."
