A reader of La Voz de Lanzarote has expressed her outrage at what she considers a situation of "abandonment" in Costa Teguise, despite being "one of the tourist areas that generates the most income for the City Council."
According to the complaint, many of the beaches "lack showers and adequate cleaning," and some are "bare, without sand." Added to this, he assures, is the state of the garden areas, where he observes "obvious neglect." In his writing, he directly addresses the mayor with several questions: "What do you plan to offer tourists who visit us? Why isn't taxpayer money invested in taking care of these public spaces for citizens and tourists? Why do other municipalities take care of their beaches and we don't? How long will this neglect last?"
