A resident of Arrecife has denounced "a Dante-esque spectacle" during the burial of a relative this past Wednesday in the capital's cemetery.

"Such a delicate moment emotionally for family and friends turned into a spectacle of horror," began this citizen, who wanted to make the situation public through La Voz.

The woman pointed out that "the family or friends are the ones who must manually transport the coffin to the niche and lift it onto a platform to push it inside." Thus, she indicated that "the coffin was heavy, it was shaking," and even, "it got stuck when entering the niche."

"A moment that should be dedicated to accompanying and silently bidding farewell to the loved one, turned into a moment of fear, of anger at the situation, of anger, of bewilderment. Something unacceptable," the citizen highlighted.

In this way, she highlighted that the capital's cemetery "lacks a coffin carrier, a device that automatically, and not manually, transports the coffins and lifts them to place them delicately in the niche."

In addition, they pointed out that they requested the complaint form, but it was not available to users.
