A resident of Arrecife has once again criticized the concerts organized by the capital's City Council and has accused the institution of committing an alleged criminal offense. The council has scheduled for this weekend, October 18 and 19, the celebration of the eighties party Revive Arrecife, which will take place from 7:00 p.m. on the El Reducto pedestrian promenade.

In addition, he has accused the Arrecife City Council and the councilor responsible for the events of committing "a possible criminal offense", while using "the excuse of economic revitalization".

"Not even two weekends have passed and the Arrecife City Council is going to torture hundreds of residents," this resident stated in a letter addressed to this newspaper. Among them, he pointed out that the volume of decibels, which he claims are "higher than 90 for seven hours", affects the elderly, the sick, and children.

He also pointed out that according to "numerous studies" and the World Health Organization (WHO), they are "completely harmful and cause diseases".

The citizen asks the readers of La Voz: "Have you seen any new cafes, restaurants, or businesses open in the period from October 2023 to October 2024 in the area of the avenue and El Reducto? I answer them, none."

At the same time, he highlighted that "this alleged revitalization is only for the sound and stage assembly company, which is always the same, and the event organization companies, which are also always the same." In addition, he added that "that's where the ten million euros that the City Council has already spent are going (this event is 315,000 euros of everyone's money)".

For this citizen, it is "the biggest waste of public money ever seen in Arrecife." Finally, he added, "How long will the citizens endure this, seeing how housing, transportation, crime, and dirt are?"
