A passenger residing in Tinajo has contacted La Voz de Lanzarote to report an assault by a taxi driver. The events took place last Wednesday, March 20 at 6:50 p.m., according to the video that this editorial team has been able to access.
According to the passenger's testimony, "basically the man didn't have change for 50 euros and his dataphone didn't work, so he assaulted me when I asked him for the complaint book."
The alleged assault occurred outside the victim's home, after being transported from the center of Tinajo by taxi to his home. The taxi driver exits through the right door of the vehicle and ends up pushing the passenger who, after tripping on the sidewalk, falls on his back on the asphalt.
The affected person called the Civil Guard to report what happened. However, according to his testimony, since he had not filed a medical report, he did not file the complaint, because at that time he did not have a car to go to the hospital. In addition, 24 minutes later he was entering work.
After that, he reported, he called the Tinajo taxi company to report what happened, to which they replied that they would investigate it.
