A neighbor has contacted La Voz to report that the Yaiza City Council "dismantled" the children's park in Las Breñas on January 15.

"They fenced off the park so that no one can access it, and Las Breñas has gone from having an old, small park with no shade to having nothing, nor information on what the city council's plans are for this park," the neighbor criticizes.

According to the reader, "this park serves the residents of Las Breñas and is the schoolyard of Las Breñas, and since the 15th, students have not been able to go out to the yard. I believe that if the island talks about girls and boys as the future of Lanzarote, the importance of our minors should be demonstrated with facts."

In addition, he also denounces the management of the Yaiza City Council in the management of the parks, arguing that it "is very deficient, there is no maintenance, and the facilities do not consider inclusion, they are limited to copying the same type of games in each of them, not to mention the lack of shade in most of them."

"The alternative to this dismantling is what all psychologists and educators advise against: cell phones, screens of harmful games, and the alienation from childhood of what we call our
future. If we want a healthy youth, the leaders must work harder and better so that they have the minimum resources for childhood," he concludes.
