Where to windsurf
When it comes to windsurfing, the island has numerous locations ranging from the tourist areas of Costa Teguise and Puerto del Carmen, to the north of the island in Los Jameos, with spaces for all levels.

1. Las Cucharas in Costa Teguise

Las Cucharas is a beach located in a kind of closed bay where large waves break to the left, away from the beach, thanks to its outer reef.

2. Puerto del Carmen

The best time to practice kitesurfing is when the trade winds blow, mainly in the summer season, although it can also be done without problems from September to March.
1. Famara
Famara beach is the place par excellence for kitesurfing, as the conditions are unbeatable, especially thanks to the wind direction, which tends to go North.
Its more than six kilometers of extension allow you to enjoy this sport without bothering anyone, all under the imposing Risco de Famara of more than 400 meters high, a cinematic enclave. In addition, here are also located many of the kitesurfing schools on the island, so it is a good place to start.
2. Playa Honda
The kilometer-long Playa Honda has also become a very frequented spot by athletes in recent years, as it not only has plenty of space to practice kitesurfing, but it is also frequented by very few people.
The best conditions occur when the East winds blow, as when the wind turns and blows from land, it tends to push offshore.
3. Los Charcos in Costa Teguise
Finally, for the more expert athletes, the perfect place to kitesurf is in the Los Charcos area, in Costa Teguise.
