This season of Zonzamas Plus Car Lanzarote in the Women's Handball Gold Division couldn't have more excitement. Each game is a roller coaster that tends to be resolved in the last minutes. This time, literally, on the buzzer after an 8-second play.

Zonzamas faced Soliss Pozuelo de Cva in Castilian lands, who, despite fighting to maintain the category and not be relegated, is one of those teams that always measure up and fight until the last ball. Both rivals respected each other and the initial exchange was one of probing and recognition on both sides.

It wasn't until the middle of the first half that the score began to break. After a shot by Marta Cuenca saved by the local goalkeeper, Paula Quiles, the pivot Yaiza Alonso scored from 6 meters to put 9 to 6 on the scoreboard, which already showed how complicated the game looked for Zonzamas Plus Car Lanzarote.

After that, the disadvantage increased and Juan Rivera requested the first timeout. It was time to move the bench and look for options to strengthen the defense and not give up more ground. But Quiles became a wall and defended her goal like never before. Zonzamas spent almost 6 minutes without scoring a single goal, watching how the Manchegas liked it and moved up to 6 goals.

The buzzer that marked the end of the first half came when Zonzamas seemed to react and began to close the gap. A penalty transformed by Gleynis Reyes made it 17 to 13 with which the first half ended.

After the restart, the score was without moving for almost 5 minutes, partly due to the good performance of both goalkeepers. It was a goal in the race of Brenda Roger that broke the ice. Now it was Pozuelo de Cva who spent several minutes without seeing the goal.

Zonzamas found a formula to decongest the attack. They managed to put balls towards the pivot that, either Jana Pinilla scored or ended in penalties transformed by Gleynis Reyes, the top scorers of the match. The defense still did not show the solidity that a match of this caliber required. Thus, when it seemed that there was an option to come back in the game, Pozuelo put land in between again.

The last 5 minutes of the game were, as always in Zonzamas, heart-stopping. The batateras had managed to get to only 2 goals away thanks to a goal from Ingrid Roger from the area opposite to the empty goal. After that and an error by Pozuelo, Jana Pinilla scored at will from 6 meters.

The tension grew and with 50 seconds left, a neck defense by Gabi Romero became a penalty that Reyes did not forgive. This brought the tie to 26 and the local team's timeout. After the restart, the penalty went to Pozuelo, who did not forgive.

There were only 8 seconds left in the game and Juan Rivera also asked for time to mark the last play. Jana Pinilla took the ball from the center of the field and ran to the penalty spot while Gabi Romero dodged two defenders while bouncing the ball to connect again with the pivot who did not fail and achieved the tie at 27.
