Seven sailors from the Real Club Náutico de Arrecife traveled to the island of Tenerife this past weekend, participating in the Second ILCA 4 Qualifying Regatta. Three intense days of competition, with different wind and sea conditions, in which a total of six regattas were held and where the young promises of Canarian sailing gave their best. Unai de Ugarte, in the male U16 category, took the victory and occupied second place in the overall standings.
The Second ILCA 4 Qualifying Regatta – Navieras Armas Transmediterránea featured the participation of 34 sailors, a selective competition in preparation for the ILCA 4 Spanish Cup to be held in Vilanova, Villagarcía de Arousa, from October 30 to November 2. On Friday, two races were held, the lack of wind prevented the development of tests on Saturday, and it concluded with four races on Sunday.
In the U16 category, the Real Club Náutico de Arrecife expedition included the participation of Unai de Ugarte, Mateo Roa, Adriana Bravo de Laguna, and Pablo de Eusebio. And in the U18 category, the Lanzarote club was represented by Guillermo Bravo de Laguna, Ulises Montesdeoca, and Sara Betancort.

Unai de Ugarte repeated his triumph in the U16 male category, after his first place achieved in the First ILCA 4 Qualifying Regatta held a few weeks ago in Lanzarote.
In addition, the Real Club Náutico de Arrecife sailor was the second classified in the men's U18 category and finished second in the overall competition standings. Adriana Bravo de Laguna was the second classified in the women's U16 category and climbed to the third step of the podium in the women's U18 category. And Mateo Roa repeated in the men's U16 category the third place obtained in the first event of the Canary Islands ILCA 4 class calendar.
Guillermo Bravo de Laguna, a sailor who had won the First ILCA 4 Qualifying Regatta, narrowly missed the podium, finishing in fourth place overall. Meanwhile, his teammate Ulises Montesdeoca finished the competition in a commendable fifth place overall.
