UD Lanzarote knew the importance of the match against Arucas CF, and with the need to add the three points to continue in the fight to play the promotion phase to the Second Division "B". The rojillos opened the scoring in the first half, with Quintero converting a penalty. In the second half, Quintero increased the differences and Ayoze Pérez put the sentence. Arucas made up the final result with Marrero's goal.
UD Lanzarote took control of the game from the start of the match, encountering a rival that defended with order on the field. It took the local team just eight minutes to generate their first dangerous action. Raúl Fernández with a shot from the left vertex of the area sent the ball to the crossbar of the goal defended by Roque.
The action that unbalanced the score in favor of UD Lanzarote occurred in the 14th minute. Borja Vera put a ball between the lines for Quintero to enter the area on the left side, being knocked down by the rojillo striker by the goalkeeper Roque. The referee pointed out the maximum penalty, with Quintero being the one who executed the penalty and the one who established the 1-0.
As a result of the goal, the forces were equalized on the field. UD Lanzarote did not finish controlling the match, especially in the wide area in which they lost many balls. Most of the rojillos' actions died in the vicinity of the area and Arucas was not able to get close to Agoney's domains with danger.
The first part concluded with two clear chances for Arucas CF, with the Gran Canaria team sending two balls to the crossbar. The first in the 42nd minute through Dailos and the second in the 44th minute, after a bad clearance by the local defense, Kilian finished off the crossbar. With the score of 1-0, the first 45 minutes of the match came to an end
The second period began with chances for both teams. The first to have an unbeatable chance was the local team, with a header from Quintero that was lost over the crossbar. Arucas' response came just two minutes later, with an entry from Arroyo on the left side, and his shot went close to the base of the post.
When UD Lanzarote was having the worst time due to Arucas' push, the second goal of the locals arrived. Borja Vera controlled a ball inside the area, put a measured pass for his teammate Quintero and he only had to push it into the back of the net.
And the sentence came just four minutes later with a perfect counterattack from UD Lanzarote. Borja Vera entered the left wing, took a cross to the second post and Ayoze controlled the ball to finish it into the back of the net.
Ayoze Pérez could not continue on the field, returning to have discomfort in one of his ankles and having to leave his position to Brad. Also in the final minutes of the match there was the return of Toñito, a player who had been out of the field for almost three months due to an injury.
In the final stretch of the match came the goal of Arucas CF. Marrero controlled a ball behind the defense of UD Lanzarote, finished off first and surprised goalkeeper Agoney. There was no time for more and with the score of 3-1 the match came to an end.
A triumph that allows UD Lanzarote to join the fight for fourth place in the standings, placing them three points from the play-off zone of the Third Division. The rojillos play again next week as locals, receiving the visit of UD Las Palmas Atlético, an intractable leader of the category.
