This Tuesday, the official presentation of the fifth edition of the Rallysprint Yaiza 2025 took place, in an event held on the Playa Blanca promenade, next to Juan El Majorero's Brisa Marina Restaurant, where representatives from the Yaiza City Council, federations, and the organization in charge, CD. Evesport, were present. The regional event for the island of Lanzarote, which takes place this Friday night and Saturday morning, boasts an enthusiastic participation of 44 teams on its official entry list published tonight.
On behalf of Yaiza, its Sports Councilor Angel Lago attended, accompanied by the first deputy mayor and Tourism Councilor, José Daniel Medina, who excused the mayor's absence and greeted everyone on his behalf. José María Santana, a member of the Las Palmas Federation, and Miguel Angel Domínguez, president of the Canary Islands Federation, were also presentAnother luxury "guest" was the FCA's Opel Corsa Electric, which will serve as the "Zero Car" for the organization's safety caravan. This is the first time it's being presented in Lanzarote to contribute to the promotion of sustainable mobility in collaboration with the Government of the Canary Islands, as explained by the regional president himself, who is getting involved with motorsports for the first time this season.
The event, also broadcast via streaming television, was opened by the president of Evesport, José Víctor Rodríguez, who explained the details of the test to those present, as he had previously done at the security coordination meeting held that same morning with a significant attendance of 23 officials from the different areas that will ensure the correct development of the rallysprint and resolve any potential incidents, always in collaboration with the organization.
Angel Lago congratulated the event for "achieving a record number of participants in its still short history, also showing his satisfaction with the good consolidation achieved, as the initial aspiration was to bring motorsport to the south of Lanzarote and today we can speak of a succession of successes in each edition".
The Councilor for Sports took the opportunity to inform followers and fans that "they should use the safest areas, which will be perfectly signposted along the 8.6 km route between 'Las Casitas-Femés-Las Breñas', in both directions".
Last event of the year in Lanzarote
This is the last scoring test of all the championships that conclude in Yaiza: the Canary Islands Rallysprint Championship, the Las Palmas Championship, and the Lanzarote Island Championship, some of whose positions have already been decided while others are pending what happens this weekend. One more year, to bid farewell to the season in Lanzarote, Evesport, in collaboration with Luis from El Chiringuito Tropical in Playa Blanca, will offer the already traditional paella on Friday night, prepared on-site in the Assistance Zone of the event located in Uga.
Upon concluding the presentation, attendees continued in pleasant conversation, discussing the details of the rallysprint and Lanzarotean motorsport, while also enjoying the refreshments served by Juan El Majorero's own restaurant. In addition to serving his splendid Canarian seafood dishes, the restaurant collaborated by providing the terrace for the presentation event.
