The Poliarrecife Karate Club shines in the Philippines and Tenerife

Last Friday, May 15, in the city of Manila (Philippines), Amelie Skiba participated in the World Karate Federation (WKF Karate One Youth League) Junior World League, competing in the Female Junior Kumite -59 kg category, where she achieved seventh place in the standings, after falling after two previous victories, in the bout prior to the one for the bronze medal. A performance that places the Lanzarote karateka in the TOP 20 of the World Ranking, and 2nd in the Spanish Absolute Ranking, in her category.

On the other hand, at the regional level, last Sunday, May 17, at the Basilio Labrador Pavilion, in the town of Los Realejos in Tenerife, and organized by the Canary Islands Karate Federation, the XXV Villa de Los Realejos Championship and the III. Canary Islands Veterans Championship were held. The Poliarrecife Karate Club was present with four competitors, obtaining very good results.

Marius Sasu, won the Gold medal in Male Junior Kumite -60 +60 kg; Mohamed Kouchamy, Gold medal in Male Junior Kumite -40. -45 kg; Abdalla El Jaafari, Silver medal in Male Master 1 Kata, and Silver medal in Male Master 1 and 2 Kumite and Javier García had a meritorious performance in Male Cadet Kumite -70 +70 kg, although he could not fight for medals after falling in the quarterfinals.

The competitors were assisted during the competition by the club's coach, José Miguel Ortega, who acted as coach.
