The Club Piragüismo Marlines de Lanzarote once again achieved a notable performance this Saturday after being crowned champion of the XXV Canary Islands Sea Kayak Championship 2026, held in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, where it also won a total of 32 individual medals.
The Lanzarote team won the regional club title after scoring 1,058 points, surpassing the Club Amigos del Piragüismo de Canarias, second with 794 points, and the Real Club Náutico de Gran Canaria, third with 443 points.
The Marlines team once again stood out in practically all categories of the championship, from promotion to veterans, achieving a final balance of nine gold medals, thirteen silver, and ten bronze.
One of the most outstanding aspects of the championship was the collective performance of the club in the promotion, children, cadets, and veterans categories, where the Lanzaroteans managed to make decisive differences to win the regional championship.
In the individual category, the golds went to Lucía Clavijo Rodríguez, Claudia Fortes Morales, Kevin Cristian Gálvez González, Benjamín Giuliano Locreille, Tobias Massimo Locreille Massarutto, Gabor Devora Keller, Jonay Nazario Rodríguez González, Juan Tomás Méndez Pérez and Tatiana Alperi Piera.
The silver medals were won by Renata Tiziana Locreille Massarutto, Nahia Teresa Armas García, Isabella García Vargas, Maeva Carrión Guedez, Svetlana Kapisovska Shilo, Aritz Labarga Hernández, Iker Manuel Martín Curbelo, Mateo Falcón Villalba, Iriome Nieves Conejo, Andor Devora Keller, Juan Fernando Osorio Cabal, Andoni Muro Pablo and Fernando Castillo Álvarez.
For their part, the bronzes went to Ainara Padrón Borges, Attenery Acosta García, Carla Medina Rodríguez, Sara Asenjo Pastor, Enzo Giménez Aguilar, Felipe Donato Locreille Massarutto, Aythami Nieves Conejo, Francisco Pablo Locreille, Paulo Gomes Nunes and Jordi Kenay Tirado Salazar.
The president of the Marlines Club, José María García, positively valued the team's performance after the competition. “It has been a very demanding championship and we are very happy with the work of the entire team. Beyond the results, we are left with the attitude and commitment that our athletes have shown throughout the day. Winning this championship and earning 32 medals is the result of the daily effort of the paddlers, coaches, and families who are part of the club,” he stated.
After this new regional success, the club is already preparing for its next international commitment. Next week, the canoeist Axel Celmanti will represent Spain in the I Paracanoe Sprint World Cup, which will be held in Brandenburg (Germany), as part of the Spanish team.
Furthermore, José María García will also attend the international event as a member of the technical staff of the national paracanoe team. The Marlines Club thus continues to consolidate itself as one of the benchmarks of regional and national sea kayaking, in both youth, senior, and veteran categories.
