The Marlines de Lanzarote Canoeing Club has started the season with a great victory, proclaiming themselves absolute champions of the I Spanish Sea Kayak Cup. Despite a weekend marked by adverse weather conditions, the Lanzarote paddlers were able to face the challenge and achieve a spectacular result in the first competition of the national calendar.

The competition, held in Torrevieja, Alicante, brought together 37 national teams and almost 500 of the best paddlers in Spain in this demanding inaugural event of the national sea kayak calendar.

A weekend complicated by the weather

The event was conditioned by bad weather, with a yellow alert for coastal phenomena and rain, which forced the organization to modify the competition program. Due to the persistent meteorological difficulties, it was decided to hold all the races inside the port, on a safe 2 km course.
