The Lanzarotean Amelie Skiba reaches the fifth place in the Youth League of Harare

Last Friday, March 27, in the city of Harare (Zimbabwe), Amelie Skiba participated in the World Junior League of the World Karate Federation (WKF Karate One Youth League), competing in the category Female Junior Kumite -59 kg., where she reached the fifth place in the classification after falling in the bronze medal match, whose final score was 0-0, by non-unanimous decision of the judges (1-3), and against the Slovenian competitor, currently second in the world ranking. A new international experience for Amelie, which will undoubtedly result in better results in upcoming events.

On the other hand, in the autonímic scope, last Sunday, March 29 nde, the Canary Islands Karate Championship for the youngest categories, from Benjamín to Juvenil, organized by the Canarian Karate Federation, was held in Puerto de la Cruz (Tenerife). The Poliarrecife club attended said championship with three competitors, harvesting two medals, a silver and a bronze.

Marius Sasu was proclaimed runner-up of the Canary Islands, after winning three of his four fights, being defeated only in the final.

For his part, Gael Suárez achieved third place in the Kumite Alevín Male -34 kg category.

Great work also by Mohamed Kouchamy, who participated in Male Youth Kumite -45 Kg, although he fell in the first round, in a very disputed fight, and with a very close result, so he could not compete for the medals.
