The Lanzarote Champions Gala definitively closes the 2025 season on the easternmost island of the Archipelago. The Las Palmas Automobile Federation (FALP) awarded more than fifty accolades in a highly emotional ceremony. All the athletes who attended enjoyed an exceptional atmosphere at the Sociedad Fomento de Tao, the chosen venue to carry out this event which enjoyed great support.
The best classified drivers of the Lanzarote Asphalt Championship, the Lanzarote Slalom Championship, and the new Fuerteventura and Lanzarote Inter-Island Slalom Championship, in its touring car variant, took to the stage to receive the reward for their excellent performance during the past campaign. The satisfaction of the awardees was a feeling shared with the attendees who filled the hall of the venue located in Teguise.
In addition to the president of the FALP, Dani Ponce, the head of the Canary Islands Federation of Motorsport (FCA), Miguel Ángel Domínguez; the councilor for Sports of the host municipality, Alejandro Ramírez; and the councilor for Sports of the Cabildo de Lanzarote, Juan Monzón, attended the event. The latter acknowledged the work carried out by the provincial and regional federation by presenting its two leaders with a pin from the Insular Sports Service.
As well as the corresponding titles for the different competitions, the FALP made special mentions to two vital figures in the development of motor sports in conejeras lands. One of them was for Juan Pedro Aparicio ‘El Rubio’, who held the presidency of the Escudería Lanzarote in past decades. The recipient of the other honorary distinction, Francisco Lemes ‘El Menda’. His sons, Spanish champions Samuel and Yeray, collected it.
This Champions Gala crowned a perfect weekend for the motorsport family in Lanzarote, which became the Canary Islands capital of motorsport from Friday afternoon with the 19th RallySprint La Candelaria. In this regional event, ‘Toñín’ Suárez-Kimberly González and Yeray Lemes-Aitor Cambeiro starred in a memorable battle for victory that was decided by just one tenth in favor of the Porsche duo.
Soon, the Las Palmas Automobile Federation (FALP) will close the 2025 Fuerteventura season with the relevant awards ceremony. The fastest teams from the Fuerteventura Insular Slalom, won by Javier Fránquiz and José Ángel Batista, in the touring car category; and by Daniel Pérez, in single-seaters; and the winners of the Fuerteventura and Lanzarote Interinsular Slalom among car-cross will be called to it.
