The Lanzarote Summer Challenge 2025 already has winners. They are the couple formed by Carmen Pericet and Laura Plaza and the couple Bryan Hernández and André Rower who have prevailed in a demanding edition that goes down in history as the one with the highest sporting and competitive level, bringing together in Arrecife, the island's capital, some of the best European athletes of the moment for a few days.
Grandstands with absolute full capacity from the first minute. The teams had the last chance to make a place in the final with a series of strength and synchronicity exercises first thing on Sunday morning. Completely full stands at the Marina Puerto Deportivo facilities to enjoy the show: up to 50 synchronized push-ups as a couple, followed by a 70-kilo deadlift that then had to be passed, again as a couple, from one shoulder to another.
To finish, one of the most demanding and attractive exercises, suspended from a bar, the teams raise their feet to their shoulders in complete synchronicity. Maximum repetitions against the clock. Forces to the limit and iron abs, only suitable for the strongest.
Only eight couples per category, the best, managed to get a place in the final, for which the organization reserved a spectacular challenge. The finalists faced 30 jumps to a box more than half a meter high, 60 centimeters, the dreaded rings, up to 20 times they had to exercise their arms to climb them and 10 lifts over their heads of a bar that was increasing in weight, up to a maximum of between 80 and 120 kilos in the queen category, maximum tension and titanic effort. The large audience gathered in the stands did not stop cheering the athletes.
The winners of RX, queen category, have been in the Men's category Bryan Hernández and André Rower, followed by Álex de la Guardia and Fabio Beneito and in third position Jordan Delgado and Cristo León. The women's podium was headed by Carmen Pericet and Laura Plaza. Second place for Silvia García and Margaux Masset. Third place for Irantxu Echeverría and Paula Rodríguez.
In Master, the duo formed by Jeremías Lasso and Diego Jiménez was proclaimed the winner.
The winners of Intermediate male have been Daniel Ossa and Eladio Fontes. The Intermediate female couple that took first place was Andrea Carretero and Cristina González.
The team that has been proclaimed champion in Scale Male has been Gabriel del Pino Pérez and Luciano Oinei del Cid. In Scale Female, the team Claudia Rodríguez and Agata Grazyna won.
Immediately after the final, the awards ceremony took place with the presence of the municipal corporation of Arrecife headed by its mayor, Yonathan de León and its Councilor for Tourism and Sports, Elizabeth Merino, as well as the Councilor for Mobility and Transport Mario González.
The director of the Lanzarote Summer Challenge 2025, Carmen Vicente, was very proud of the development of this edition, "not only for the enormous level of the athletes this year, we have had the most tops, but also for the fact that men and women have demonstrated the same level, girls doing the same times and at the same level, giving an impressive show, even women who have lifted more weight than some male competitors." In the same way that "seeing that in the team of judges and volunteers men and women make up fifty percent, that for me is a pride."
