The I Championship of the “Mojo Wheels” brings together more than 50 high-level skaters

Kayden Cantoni, Nael Marra, Valentina Planes and Fernando Velasco were the winners in the different categories of the event

The facilities of the Extreme Center of Playa Honda hosted last Saturday, November 26, the I Skate Championship “Mojo Wheels”. An organized event that brought together outstanding Canary athletes and several national references.

The championship began with the Under 12 category, where 20 participants demonstrated the high level of the Canary Islands quarry. The first place in this category went to Kayden Cantoni (11 years old, Lanzarote), the second to Pietro Francesconi (9 years old, Fuerteventura) and the third to Amán Rodriguez (9 years old, Lanzarote).

After the youngest, the competition continued with the Under 16 category, in which Nael Marra (14 years old, Lanzarote,) rose as the winner. In this case, the second place went to Pietro Francesconi (9 years old, Fuerteventura) and the third to Kayden Cantoni (11 years old, Lanzarote).

The Open female category was held with the participation of girls and young women from all over Spain, who gave everything on the track. Valentina Planes (15 years old, A Coruña) obtained the first place in this category, followed by Natalia Muñoz (14 years old, Cádiz and Afrika Criado (15 years old, Vitoria).

The last category that was disputed was the Open Masculina, in which Fernando Velasco (26 years old, Madrid) rose as the winner. Aday Blanco (23 years old, Fuerteventura) obtained the second place, while the third place went to Mohamed Benali, from Lanzarote.

It should be noted that in the Open categories, both male and female, there was a cash prize of 2,000 euros to be distributed among the first three places in both categories.

The Councilor for Youth of the first island corporation, Myriam Barros, has expressed her satisfaction with the success of the tournament, which had a total of 54 participants. “Never before has a skate championship brought together so many high-level national participants in Lanzarote, so the ‘Mojo Wheels’ has marked a before and after in the world of skateboarding conejero”, he pointed out.
