CD Evesport organizes this Saturday, June 14, starting at three in the afternoon, a new edition of the longest mountain events in the Canary Islands, with the classic Haría Hill Climb, which already has 46 editions in its history.
The Lanzarote race will be the fourth of the Canary Islands Championship and the Las Palmas Provincial Championship, and with its 8.5 km route it is also the longest of all the hill climbs. On the other hand, it is the second event of the Lanzarote Island Championship, whose drivers are the majority in the list of 51 entries. Of these, in speed we have 41 drivers, one in Regularity Sport and nine teams in Rally Formula, among which we find the Citroen C3 Rally2 of Yeray Lemes and Oscar Cabrera.
None of the main animators and top finishers of the regional event - CCM, led by Angel Bello (Audi) in category 1 of the touring cars, as well as José Manuel González (Porsche) and Juan Lorenzo Fernández (Mitsubishi) - will miss the event.
Carlos Alexis Ramos (BRC) and Javier Rodríguez (Speed-car) lead the CCM in categories 2 and 3, respectively. Among the Lanzarote drivers, Toñín Suárez stands out with the Porsche 911 GT3. Meanwhile, the presence of the followers of the Las Palmas Provincial Championship will be minimal, with Alexis Santana (R-5 GT Turbo) as the main candidate.
The hill climb program will be entirely on Saturday, June 14, with car checks in the morning (from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.) in the town of Haría (streets near the square), with the first practice run starting at 3 p.m. Then the two official runs and the final trophy presentation scheduled for 6 p.m. in the same Haría square.
The hill climb has the support of the Haría City Council, the Lanzarote Council and its Island Sports Service, and the Canary Islands Government, with the prizes awarded to the top finishers of the race. In addition to the collaboration of the Lanzarote companies CICAR and Orvecame.
This Wednesday, the official list of entries will be published in order of departure, starting at 2 p.m. All this on the VMRM website, where all the information about the hill climb can be found and the times and classifications can be followed live.
