The fry of Ca´Mario Lanzarote San José Obrero are proclaimed champions of the Canary Islands

The final phase of the competition took place over the weekend in Titerroy

The Titerroy Municipal Pavilion, in Arrecife, became this weekend the epicenter of youth handball in the Canary Islands, with the celebration of the final phase of the U-12 Men's and Women's Canary Islands Championship. Eight teams from Lanzarote, Fuerteventura, and Gran Canaria and nearly 150 players fought for two days to lift the championship title, all with stands filled with fans from all teams to enjoy the grassroots of Canarian handball. 

The competition began on Saturday morning with the semifinals of the women's category. Ca´Mario Lanzarote San José Obrero reached the grand final by defeating Romade 23-16 in the first match. Puerto del Carmen guaranteed a Lanzarote final, winning the other tie against Balonmano Morro Jable 28-13, with a very direct game from the "tiñoseras". 

The U-12 Canary Islands Championship continued on Saturday afternoon with the semifinals of the men's category. Grupo Capisa Vecindario Atlético secured a spot in the final by winning a tight 24-22 match against Chinijos Carburos Metálicos. And in the second tie, Balonmano Rocasa won 23-19 against Ajaches Pechiguera La Cantosa. 

On Sunday morning, the consolation final was played for third and fourth place, with Romade and Morro Jable offering an evenly matched game that concluded with a 18-18 draw. This equality was maintained in the first five seven-meter throws, and in the sudden death, Romade finally won 24-23 to take third place. In the men's category, Chinijos Carburos Metálicos secured third place by defeating Balonmano Ajaches 24-17.

In the women's grand final, Ca´Mario Lanzarote San José Obrero and Puerto del Carmen offered a great match, with high intensity on the 40x20 court. The first twenty minutes ended with a tight 10-9 score in favor of the hosts, and it was in the second half that San José Obrero proved more accurate than their opponent to win 20-13. 

In the men's final, the Gran Canaria duel between Grupo Capisa Vecindario Atlético and Balonmano Rocasa was decided in favor of the team from Las Remudas, in Telde. At halftime, Rocasa was leading 7-12, a lead that the Telde team maintained in the second half to end up winning 19-24. 

Upon the conclusion of all matches, medals and trophies were awarded to all participating teams in the final phase of the Canary Islands U-12 Men's and Women's Handball Championship. Additionally, the organization selected the best players of the tournament throughout the weekend. This recognition went to Naomi Camacho (Ca´Mario Lanzarote San José Obrero) and Darío Moreno (Balonmano Rocasa)
