El Club Deportivo Pingüinos has signed a historic milestone for the sport of Lanzarote and Canarias by taking first place in the junior category in the recent Spanish Artistic Swimming Championship, held from April 10 to 12 in Puerto de la Cruz (Tenerife).
It is the first time in history that the club achieves this national title, consolidating an upward trajectory that in recent years has placed CD Pingüinos among the most solid and competitive projects in Spanish artistic swimming.
The competition brought together 27 clubs from all over Spain and more than 300 athletes, in a context of maximum demand in which the Lanzarote team not only achieved the title, but also once again demonstrated its ability to compete at the highest level in all modalities of the program .
The CD Pingüinos presented a total of 15 routines, covering technical and free solos, female and mixed duets, as well as team and acrobatic routines, demonstrating the breadth, versatility and sporting maturity of the group.
One of the most outstanding milestones of the championship was that all the club's technical routines managed to qualify for the free routines finals, a clear indicator of the high technical level achieved and of the team's regularity in all disciplines.
Regarding the results to highlight:
- Silver in men's solo, with Miguel Martínez and Eduardo Curbelo
- Bronze in mixed duet, with Miguel Martínez, Adriana Cabrera and Adriana Delgado
- 4th position in mixed duet, with Eduardo Curbelo, Vega Martínez and Lucía Pérez
- 5th position in acrobatic routine
- 7th position in technical team and free team
- 7th position in senior solo, with Nerea Hernández
These results turned Club pingüinos into Spanish champion and reflect not only the individual talent of the athletes, but also the collective strength of the team in a championship of maximum exigency.
A broad and consolidated team
The displaced team was made up of 16 athletes all participants in said success: Adriana Cabrera, Adriana Delgado, Ciara Rodríguez, Daniela Brito, Dolores de León, Eduardo Curbelo, Elizabeth Rodríguez, Eva Díaz, Laia Hernández, Laura Alemán, Lucía Pérez, Miguel Martínez, Nahomy López, Nerea Hernández, Vega Martínez and Victoria Romero, who represented the club with a high competitive level, commitment and ambition in all the disputed events.
A consolidated project with national projection
Beyond the result, this championship confirms the sporting moment of CD Pingüinos, with a team capable of performing in all disciplines and of sustaining a high competitive level continuously.
The national junior title marks a before and an after in the history of the club, projecting Lanzarote into the elite of Spanish artistic swimming and reinforcing a sports model based on constant work, technical quality, and the vocation for the future.
