The Lanzarote la Isla Diferente League of 5-meter boats is resumed with renewed hopes and commitment, concentrating the nine races that remain for the end of the competition during four weekends.
These have been weeks of much work and consensus, where it has been possible to create a short but intense calendar, which will consist of four official competition days, with two races per day. The penultimate weekend will have a special character, with the celebration of three races and that will make it possible to recover the postponed race of the second day due to weather conditions.
The Lanzarote la Isla Diferente League of 5 Meters will resume next Sunday, September 28, with the third and fourth round of the season. The calendar will continue on Sunday, October 5 with the fifth and sixth race of the season. After the break on October 12, the second, seventh and eighth round of the competition is scheduled to be held on Sunday, October 19. And it will end on Saturday, October 25 with the development of the last two races, completing the ten tests initially scheduled.
The Insular Federation of Latin Sail Boats of Lanzarote wants to express its satisfaction for the return of the competition, which symbolizes the union of the entire Latin sail family. In addition, this new sports cycle starts in a space full of history and symbolism such as Marina Colón, where the heart of Latin sailing beats again and a meeting point for generations of sailors.
Latin sailing is not just a sport, it is identity, tradition and living heritage of Lanzarote. The return of the Lanzarote la Isla Diferente League is one more step to ensure its continuity, but also to claim the recognition it deserves as an Asset of Cultural Interest (BIC).
