The Cabildo of Lanzarote has welcomed Daniel Hernández, champion of Spain and winner of the Copa del Rey of powerboating in the Rally Jet category, demonstrating his talent in the competition held in the waters of Mazarrón, located in Murcia.
The president, Oswaldo Betancort, highlighted the dedication and effort of this young man who has won two new national titles during the season. "This fact shows that on our island there are people committed to sport and with a high level of discipline," he stressed.
For his part, the Minister of Physical Activity and Sports, Juan Monzón, stated that "from the island corporation we will support athletes who fight for their dreams and achieve their goals like Daniel Hernández, who sets the bar very high."
The young man from Lanzarote managed to win both awards despite his motorcycle breaking down when he was leading the final long-distance race, preventing him from completing the course. Looking ahead, he is beginning to prepare for the European and World Championships.
