The Cabildo of Lanzarote, through the Insular Sports Service, recently received the referee from La Graciosa Ágata López to formally congratulate her after achieving promotion to the Women's First Division (Liga F), the highest category of Spanish women's football. The minister for Physical Activity and Sports, Juan Monzón, was in charge of receiving her and recognizing a historic milestone that rewards years of constant physical, technical, and academic preparation on the field.
During the meeting, Monzón presented a commemorative gift on behalf of the entire society of Lanzarote and La Graciosa, highlighting the pride it represents for the islands to have a representative in the refereeing body of the highest state competition.
Ágata López's promotion not only rewards her impeccable technical performance during the past season, but also represents the consolidation of an exemplary career that places her among the best referees in the country.
“Ágata López's promotion to Liga F is a cause for enormous pride for all of Lanzarote. Reaching the elite of Spanish refereeing demands an extraordinary level of rigor, preparation, and composure. Ágata has not only demonstrated brilliant technical ability, but has also become a real benchmark and a mirror in which many young women and future referees from our land can look," emphasized the minister.
