The first half concluded with a score of 21 to 17, with San José Obrero conceding 21 goals in the first thirty minutes of the match, which shows evidence of defensive weakness.

There was no reaction from Balonmano Lanzarote Ciudad de Arrecife in the second half, committing on this occasion many errors in attack, with turnovers and bad decisions in the selection of shots. The Lanzarote players managed to get three goals down at the start of the second half, but they were never able to complete the comeback.
