This Monday, December 11, the 8th edition of the 'Lanzarote Quemao Class' has begun, starting at 8:00 a.m. in La Santa, Tinajo. A competition that paid tribute in the town this Sunday to David Infante 'El Fula', in a memorial in memory of the emblematic surfer who lost his life in the wave of 'El Quemao' in 2009.
The co-director of the event, Héctor Rodríguez, has expressed how "happy he is that people have turned out for the memorial of David Infante 'El Fula'". He highlighted that it was "exciting" to see the tribute in the water and that they want "people to continue remembering him" and that his "lifelong friends are moved when they remember him". "We will continue like this, he will never be forgotten, he is still alive among us," he pointed out.
The bodyboarders Aitor Ojeda and Ruyman Rey also expressed their emotion with the memorial. "We are his group of friends from Fuerteventura from all our lives, he is always in our memory, and although many years have passed, we thought it would be easier, but the emotion remains when being here," commented Ojeda. "For us this is more than a competition, it is something very sentimental, it is coming back here, getting together and remembering that we were lucky enough to meet him," added Ruyman Rey.
