The Pingüinos de Arrecife Swimming Club of the Real Club Nautico de Arrecife traveled this past weekend to the island of Gran Canaria to participate in the Regional Summer Championship for children and infants, which will serve as a prelude to the national championship to be held in Sabadell in a month.
The great increase in the Pingüinos Club's youth academy has meant that a total of 25 children and ten infant swimmers traveled. It has been a long, hard, and intense weekend, but one where great successes have been achieved.
The competition was held at the CN Metropole in Las Palmas, competing on Friday afternoon in the figures competition in both the infant and children's categories.
On Saturday morning, it was the turn of the infant female and mixed duets, as well as the children's team. In the afternoon, the children's duets and the infant team competed. While on Sunday morning, the infant combos competed, and in the afternoon, the children's combos closed the competition.
The Pingüinos Club returned home very satisfied with their competition, with very good results and with a lot of motivation to make the great and last effort of the season towards the Spanish Championship. The swimmers were accompanied by their coaches Beatriz Gavira and Sara Gijón.
