The Island Sports Service of the Cabildo of Lanzarote has inaugurated the champions' walk of the Ironman Lanzarote, next to the statue of Kenneth Gasque, on the occasion of the presentation of the new edition of this sporting event. It should be remembered that this will be the last Ironman organized in conjunction with Club La Santa.

At the opening ceremony were present, in addition to the Minister of Physical Activity and Sports, Juan Monzón; the president of the Cabildo, Oswaldo Betancort; the mayor of Tías, José Juan Cruz; the race director of Club La Santa, Fabio Cabrera; and the architect of the Ironman arriving in Lanzarote, Kenneth Gasque.

“From now on, both tourists and residents will be able to see the names of the winners of all Ironman races from the first edition to the last, and as the next ones happen, plaques will be added along the avenue,” assured the Minister of Physical Activity and Sports, Juan Monzón.

The counselor has taken the opportunity to thank Club La Santa for the care and sacrifice they have made all these years as organizers. "They have been a key piece in all this that we celebrate, and fundamental for this champions' walk to be a reality." Likewise, the counselor has thanked the Tías City Council for their collaboration in placing these plaques on Avenida de Las Playas.

“With this walk, together with the statue we inaugurated last year, we pay a well-deserved tribute to those who made it possible for Ironman to be on our island, and more specifically, to Kenneth Gasque as the true iron man,” he concluded.
