CB San José Obrero played a new Canarian derby in the Women's Silver Division of Handball against BM Tejina Tenerife on Saturday afternoon, a team that was able to face the team led by David Betancorr during the first half. In the second half, the defensive intensity was key to defeat the Tenerife team, and achieve the tenth victory of the season to continue leading the standings.

From the beginning, San José Obrero took the initiative, led in attack by an accurate Gema Trujillo who scored from the wing the first three goals of the match. Despite this superiority, the locals were not able to increase the difference and BM Tejina Tenerife remained two or three goals behind the Lanzarote team.

San José Obrero lowered its defensive intensity as the minutes passed, a circumstance that the visiting team took advantage of. Andrea Alonso scored to tie the score and Úrsula González put her team ahead for the first time. The Lanzarote coach had to call a time-out to reorganize his team's ideas.

After the instructions from the bench, Úrsula González increased the differences on the scoreboard. At that moment, Gema Trujillo once again led her team's offensive actions, establishing the tie. Melania Cabrera returned the initiative on the scoreboard to the locals, and now it was the BM Tejina coach who called the time-out. The score was 18 to 14 at halftime.

The visitors suffered the disqualification with a red card of Úrsula González at the edge of halftime, losing one of their references in attack and defense. A second half that began with a 3-1 partial in favor of San José Obrero, again forcing the Tejina coach to call a time-out as he saw that his players were not at all into the game.

The second half was very pleasant for CB San José Obrero, increasing the advantage as the minutes passed and placing the rent around ten goals. Given the difference, the most regular players were placed on the bench, giving way to the rest of the players who had entered the call-up.

With the score of 33 to 26, the match came to an end, with CB San José Obrero adding the tenth victory of the season, which allows them to continue leading Group A of the Women's Silver Division of Handball. The Lanzarote team will return to the competition in two weeks, visiting Palencia Turismo.
