Another weekend of competition for the members of the Auria Badminton Club, with a double event. Five players from the club traveled to the island of La Palma to take part in the TOP TTR Breña Alta, winning one silver and one bronze medal. And Adrián Carabali traveled to Catalan lands to participate in the TOP Máster Granolers, competing in the mixed doubles category.
A team consisting of Greta Duarte, Patricia Vargas, Ariadna Moreno, Zhi Tao Li, and Oliver Gausmann traveled to the island of La Palma on Friday afternoon. Two days of competition at the Breña Alta Municipal Sports Hall, in which the players from the Auria Badminton Club fought for every point.
In the U19 women's category, Ariadna Moreno won the silver medal at the TOP TTR Breña Alta. The player from Lanzarote began the competition with a tight victory against Mencía Viña (21-15, 19-21, 21-16), and in the second match, she faced the number one seed in the tournament. The Auria Bádminton Club player won the first set against Nekal Padrón but ended up losing in the following two sets (21-16, 15-21, 7-21), ultimately securing the silver.
The second medal of the Breña Alta TTR TOP came from the pair formed by Greta Duarte and Patricia Vargas. The players from the Auria Badminton Club participated in the women's doubles in the under-17 category, achieving the bronze medal, with a balance of one victory and two defeats.
In the TOP Máster Granollers, Adrián Carabali participated alongside Ana Cirujano, a player from Drop de Toledo, in mixed doubles. The native of Lanzarote came close to participating in the individual draw of the under-19 category, being the fourth reserve based on the national ranking he currently holds.
The competition weekend on the island of La Palma and in Granollers is behind us, and the Auria Badminton Club's competition team is preparing for the next competition, with the next event scheduled for the TOP TTR Blanes, in Catalonia.
