Second victory of the season for Magec Tías Against Gender Violence

Magec Tías Against Gender Violence obtained an important victory by 66 to 64 against Robles Lleida, in a very disputed match at the Tías Municipal Pavilion. Both the locals and the Lleida team offered an exciting match that kept the fans on edge until the last second.

From the beginning, Magec Tías came out with great intensity, surprising the visitors. The local team was strong in defense, capturing up to 10 rebounds in the first quarter, and showed great success in field shots, which allowed them to close the first quarter with a partial advantage of 17 to 8.

In the second quarter, the difference was extended to 13 points, but little by little the Catalan team reduced the gap, achieving a tie in the last minutes of the first half. However, two consecutive three-pointers by Tania González, who had already scored one minutes before, allowed the locals to have a 6-point advantage, reduced at the last moment by a visiting three-pointer, reaching halftime with a score of 32 to 29.

After returning from the locker rooms, the match continued with a dynamic of equality. Lleida managed to get ahead on the scoreboard, with a maximum advantage of 2 points. However, the visitors were charged with personal fouls in their search for a more aggressive defense, which allowed Cristo González's players to play more effectively and escape again on the scoreboard. At the end of the third quarter, the scoreboard reflected 52 to 44 in favor of Magec Tías.

Despite extending the difference to 13 points, the dynamic changed with 5 minutes remaining. The Catalan players began to score easily, which led the local bench to request a timeout. Both squads were charged with personal fouls, making the game slower and with many free throws. Lleida came dangerously close on the scoreboard until Tania González, with two crucial three-pointers, served as a balm for the locals.

Even so, it was time to suffer until the end. The Lleida team did not give up the match and continued to believe in turning the score around. In the last play, with the score 66 to 64, they had the possibility of tying or even getting ahead, but they finally failed.

With this victory, Magec Tías Against Gender Violence adds its second victory of the season, placing itself with 2 wins and 3 losses in the middle of the table. Next week there will be a derby, with a visit to Vega Lagunera Adareva.
